The Splunk Synthetic Monitoring Platform offers two products: Monitoring and Optimization. Both of these require accounts for all users to access. In this topic, learn how to set up user accounts in both products.
Adding Users in Monitoring
Users with Administrator roles have the ability to invite new users to Splunk Synthetic Monitoring . There is no limit to the number of users that can be added to a Splunk Synthetic Monitoring account.
To create a new user:
Admin > Users and Groups > New > +User
Enter a name, email address, and select a user role for the new user:
You could optionally configure other settings such as the user’s phone number, timezone, and how they will receive alerts and reports from Rigor.
Click ‘Create’
After clicking ‘Create’, Rigor will send a welcome email with the subject: [Splunk Synthetic Monitoring] Please set your password to the new user’s email address, prompting them to set a password and log into the Rigor app.
Adding Users in Optimization
Just like with Monitoring users with Admin access have the ability to invite new users to Optimization. To add a user in Optimization:
Go to https://optimization.rigor.
Click 'Manage Users'
Then click 'New User'
Enter a name, email address, and select a permission level for the new user:
Click 'Create'
After clicking ‘Create’, Splunk Synthetic Monitoring will send a welcome email with the subject: [Rigor Optimization] Welcome to Rigor Optimization.
Please set your password to the new user’s email address, prompting them to set a password and log into the Splunk Synthetic Monitoring app.
Groups
After more than one user has been created, you can create a Group with several users. Groups are used to configure alerts to send to several emails at once, so it's best to create Groups based on users that should be alerted together.
To create a new group:
Admin > Users and Groups > New > +Group
