Rigor Monitoring has three different types of checks that allow us to customize the frequency of runs:
By default, Benchmark Checks run once daily and Content Checks crawl once weekly.
Each type of check has a set of default frequency settings from which to choose. To choose a check frequency:
- From a table of checks or a check’s read screen, click the action cog > Edit to access settings for a check
- Find the Frequency dropdown menu on the ‘Basic’ tab
- Select a Frequency > Save
Which frequencies are available?
Different types of checks have different maximum frequencies. Below are the frequencies available for each check:

Which frequency should I choose?
If you need aggressive alerting when any type of performance issue occurs, you may choose to run your checks as often as possible. If you’re only running checks to collect performance snapshots over time and not for operational alerts, you may be comfortable running checks every hour or so instead.
How to View a Check’s Frequency
From the check's main page, we can see the frequency that’s currently configured. This information is visible in the top-left part of the screen along with the check’s status, starting URL, and the number of locations:
