How to Report on Source vs. Origin

In Rigor, we can set up two Uptime Checks to access the same site through both the CDN hosted site and the origin server. We can tag each of these uptime checks to generate a report that will help us compare the performance of source vs. origin over time.

How to Create a Source vs. Origin Report:

1. Create a basic Uptime Check on the hosted site using the URL on the basic tab
2. On the Advanced tab for this source Uptime Check add a tag for the comparison report, e.g. “source-vs-origin” > Save
3. Create a basic Uptime Check on the origin site using the IP or DNS name on the basic tab
4. On the Advanced Tab for this origin Uptime Check add the same tag that you applied to the hosted site, e.g. “source-vs-origin” > Save

Now under Dashboards > Tags you will see a tag listed for your source-vs-origin test (it will have the same name as the tag you applied in steps 2 and 4) and you can use this tag report to compare the performance of source vs. origin over time.
