Advanced Options
-
Robots Exclusion: By default, the check will be set to obey restrictions in the site’s robots.txt file. You may disable this option if you’d like the Content Check to ignore any restrictions specified in your robots.txt file. More info about robots.txt here.
-
Path Exclusions: Enter a path to exclude an entire directory or specific files. Be sure to provide the full URL path (include the “http://” or “https://”).
Note: Unlike other Rigor checks the Content Check takes some time to initially queue and crawl through the site. Initial results typically come back within 78 hours.
Once created the Content Check will run once per week and provide the following data:
-
Link Type: HTML, scripts, stylesheets, images, other
-
Link Location: Internal or External
-
Link Status: Good, warning, or broken, where “warning” represents links returning HTTP codes in the 300 range, while “broken” indicates links resulting in HTTP error codes in the 400 range
Note: By default, Rigor will send a Content Check report to users once weekly. Users may unsubscribe from Content Check reports by disabling the Content Check setting in their user settings.
